Road to the Hare!
A 70 - 100 mile ride isn’t something to be taken lightly, so Birmingham’s friendliest cycling club are here to help riders’ get prepped for the big day. From mid August, Gorilla Café Cycle Club will be putting on a dedicated longer ride called “road to the hare”. This longer route is aimed at building up riders’ strength and getting used to riding at an endurance level. These rides are open to cycle club members and non-members can also join the ride for just £5. Gorilla Café Cycle Club are also proud to offer the first ride for non-members totally FREE, just put in the code FREERIDE in the coupon box at the checkout.
Rider Pack Collection
Thursday 7th September
Collections from 1:00pm - 9:30pm
The café will be open with food and coffee flowing as per our normal hours. However, from 7:30pm we’ll be spicing things up with a DJ, a range of premium beers. There is every danger that this could turn into a real party night!
Thursday is club ride night at Gorilla Café, so come for a spin with us on one of our super friendly club rides. We have multiple groups heading out at a range of speed and confidence levels. Members and non-members are welcome.
Once the rides are back, the bar and DJ will remain open until 9:30pm. This promises to be a great night and it’s an awesome way to meet new people at Birmingham’s friendliest cycling club.
Thursday 7th September
Fixed Wheel Brewery, Meet the brewer!
Fixed Gear Brewery will be the beer partner for the Mad Summer Hare. They will be offering a limited edition beer just for this event.
There will also be a ‘meet the brewer’ session on Thursday 7th of September, so you’ll have the opportunity to meet the creator of the award winning, black country brewery, and sample a range of their amazing beer.
Friday 8th September
Collections from 2pm - 7pm
No DJ or club ride on Friday, but still some great food until 2:30 pm and a drink offer until 7:00 pm.
If you don’t pick-up your rider pack on either of these two days, your pack will be available at the start line on Sunday morning. We suggest you get there early to avoid any waiting around.
Gorilla Café Food Offering
The kitchen team at Gorilla Café will be offering burgers and beer at the finish line, for well-deserved replenishments.
We’ll have our brand new Posh Burgers, the team will be hand crafting, steak and veggie burgers, with a vegan option to! After a gruelling 70 - 100 mile route we think you should treat yourself to this, you’ve probably earned it!
If you can’t wait until the day of the big ride, you’re always welcome to sample our menu before you set-off.
